Central Floor Polishing has a multi-step process of fine grinding concrete floor surfaces through the use of high tech equipment and well-trained installers. Central Floor Polishing turns an ordinary concrete floor surface into one with quality sheen and the ability to inhibit water and other contaminants from penetrating the surface.
The Process
When polishing concrete floors, please note that every concrete floor surface, although similar, is unique and will require a slight variation in technique and approach. Even though the concrete will dictate minor adjustments that need to be made, each application will proceed through certain levels. There can be multiple steps within each level.

-
Initially the concrete will be prepared by grinding with metal bonded diamond tooling to remove any existing buildups of glue, adhesive, paint or coatings. During this phase, required patching and joint fill will be completed.
-
Following the initial preparation step, several diamond grinds are done in order to prepare the concrete for the polishing steps.
-
Polishing of the concrete floor is a multi-step process of using specialized resin diamond tooling. These steps increase in finer and finer grits of diamond tooling to ultimately produce the finished floor surface desired.
-
Before the polishing is finalized, our liquid chemical densifiers are applied to ensure the concrete floor is hardened and will resist absorption of liquids, and not produce concrete dust once the floor is complete.
You may find your project more easily qualifies for certification with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Green Building Rating System™. The LEED Rating System provides the building industry with consistent, credible standards for what constitutes a "green" (environmentally friendly) building. LEED's parent organization, the U.S. Green Building Council, does not certify individual products or manufacturers. However, FGS/PermaShine has been a strategic part of environmental stewardship in buildings awarded LEED certification.
